In 2009, West Virginia’s basketball team started its journey toward a national championship. In every huddle, they’d break by shouting “national champs!”
This team was built with grit - exactly what you’d expect from head coach Bob Huggins. The team was led by senior forward Da’Sean Butler and a team filled with length and athleticism.
In episode one of this six-part series hosted by Geoff Coyle, we’ll reintroduce you to the 2009-10 Mountaineers and take you through the first 11 games of the season.
